Live Cam Painting은 CCTV, 웹캠, 셀프카메라 등 인터넷을 통해 생중계되는 영상을 화면(캔버스 혹은 OHP 필름) 위에 직접적으로 프로젝션 함과 동시에 고정된 배경과 더불어 움직이고 있는 인물들의 실루엣을 실시간으로 그려내는 미디어 회화 작업이다. ‘Live Cam Painting’은 평소 관심 있게 지켜보던 인터넷에서의 개인의 일상 공유의 현상에 대한 리서치를 진행하던 중 알게 된 ‘사생활 엿보기 : 어느 유럽의 젊은 커플들이 집 안에 여러 대의 카메라를 설치하고 인터넷을 통해 자신들의 생활을 전 세계에 공개하고 있다.’사이트를 통해 웹사이트에 공개된 그들의 사생활을 캔버스에 프로젝션하고 그들이 생활하는 실제 모습을 실시간으로 그리는 작업이다. 전시기간 중 계속되는 이 퍼포먼스는 한 화면에 그들이 지내고 있는 임의의 시간의 흔적들을 남긴다
Live cam painting is a performance that I paint images from videos that are broadcasted live via the Internet such as surveillance cameras, webcams, or private cameras. I directly project the silhouettes of the moving figures in the fixed background spaces of the videos onto canvas and paint them. Live cam painting unveils the lives of certain people who broadcast their private lives through certain websites. I project their videos that contain their personal lives onto my canvas to make paintings.
